Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026 · Hyppe Tech Ltd
The short version: you don't make an account to play. Your settings stay in your own browser. Match results are stored on our servers so leaderboards and multiplayer can work. We show Google ads, which use cookies — and in the EEA, UK and Switzerland you get a consent choice before any of that happens. Questions go to contact@hyppe.tech.
Who we are
Hyppe Games is operated by Hyppe Tech Ltd, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. This policy covers this website (hyppe.games) and the games we host on it, including Hornfall (hornfall.hyppe.games) and BLOCKSHOT (blockshot.hyppe.games). For anything privacy-related, write to contact@hyppe.tech.
No accounts
You do not create an account, choose a password, or give us an email address to play our games. There is no sign-up form on this site. We do not ask for your real name, your date of birth, your phone number or your address, and we have no way to look you up as a person.
Where a game lets you pick a display name, that name is something you type — it is not verified and it is not tied to an identity. Please don't use your real name if you'd rather we didn't have it.
What stays on your device
Our games use your browser's localStorage — a small store that belongs to your browser, on your device — for things that only make sense locally:
- your settings (sound, music, control options such as auto-fire, sensitivity);
- your chosen display name, if you set one;
- solo progress and autosaves, so reloading a page doesn't cost you a match;
- an anonymous, randomly generated identifier that lets a game recognise the same browser between sessions — for example to reconnect you to a match you dropped out of.
You can wipe all of it at any time by clearing site data for the relevant domain in your browser settings. Nothing there is recoverable by us, and clearing it simply resets the game to a fresh state.
What our servers store
Multiplayer needs a server, and a server that runs a match knows how it went. We store:
- Match records — that a match happened, its map or seed, mode, board size, when it started and ended, and the outcome.
- Per-player results — the display name used, and results such as kills, deaths, waves survived, placement and win or loss. This is what leaderboards (for example Hornfall's "longest stands") and end-of-match scoreboards are built from.
- The anonymous identifier described above, so your results connect to each other across matches and so a dropped connection can reclaim its seat.
- Ordinary server logs — including IP address, browser user-agent and timestamps, kept briefly for security, abuse prevention and debugging.
Live gameplay state — positions, shots, hit points — exists only in the game server's memory during the match and is never written to a database.
Our lawful basis for this, where UK/EU data protection law applies, is our legitimate interest in running a working, fair multiplayer game.
Advertising
These games are free and ads pay for them. We use Google AdSense and Google's games advertising products (publisher ID ca-pub-3016703260790555) on this site and inside our games.
- Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, and — where permitted — to personalise them based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- You can turn off personalised advertising at any time at Google Ads Settings, or use tools such as optout.aboutads.info.
If you're in the EEA, UK or Switzerland
Before advertising cookies are set, you'll see a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform, as required by the EU/UK rules and Google's own consent policy. You can accept, refuse, or choose non-personalised ads. Refusing does not lock you out of anything — the games play exactly the same, you'll simply see less relevant ads. You can change your choice later through the privacy or consent link shown in the game or by clearing cookies for the site.
No advertising profile from us
We do not sell your data, we do not build advertising profiles ourselves, and we do not hand your match history to advertisers. Where a game shows in-world adverts (billboards, panels), those are rendered by us and counted as a plain daily total per creative — no advertiser receives anything about an individual player.
Analytics
We keep product analytics deliberately coarse: milestones such as "a match started", "a match ended", "an invite link was opened", and the kind of device (mobile, desktop, installed app) plus a broad region used to connect you to a nearby server. We do not record per-shot or per-movement telemetry, and we do not use analytics to identify you.
Who processes data for us
- Render — website and game-server hosting.
- Neon — managed PostgreSQL database for match records and leaderboards.
- Google — advertising, and the consent management platform that goes with it.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. Some are located outside the UK/EEA; where that is the case, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep things
Match records and leaderboard entries are kept while the game runs, because a leaderboard with no history isn't one. Server logs are kept for a short period (typically weeks) and then discarded. Anything in your browser's localStorage stays until you clear it.
Children
Our games are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email contact@hyppe.tech and we'll remove it. Where required, ads are served in a non-personalised, child-appropriate mode.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data we hold about you, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO).
Because we deliberately hold so little, the practical version is short: email contact@hyppe.tech with the display name you used and roughly when you played, and we'll find and delete the associated match records. If you can still access the browser you played in, include the anonymous identifier from the game's settings screen where one is shown — that makes the match exact.
Security
Traffic to this site and our game servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/WSS). Gameplay is server-authoritative, which is a fairness measure but also a security one: the client can't invent results. No system is perfect, and we don't pretend otherwise.
Changes
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Material changes will also be noted on the site.
